Nick Vedros
Jess, Corina and I all went out to Bellmont on the 26th, to shoot the foliage and awesome fall-ness. At 6pm we ventured off back to campus to see Nick Vedros talk about his work. After he got up to speak and showed us some of his photos, I was intrigued. I've always wanted to be in advertising. I wasn't sure what it even consisted of, but I knew it would be the most successful career for me. After listening to Vedros, I was definitely convinced that advertising was the best career path. If you're skilled enough to make yourself known, you'll be in business. I loved his obscure creativity, especially with the gnomes. They're something not many would even think of, but they're hysterical. Especially when he shoots for a company, he can use his creativity but still provide a photo that the company asked for. That's what I want, and hopefully will get to do in the near future. I don't want to relinquish all my say and creativity in my photos just to please a client. My photos need to still have my voice. Nick Vedros definitely has that capability and I admire that.
